Shoney's Strawberry Pie

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
2 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 large box strawberry gelatin
1 quart strawberries
1 baked pie shell
Whipped topping

Combine sugar, water and cornstarch in saucepan. Cook until thick. Cool for 8 minutes. Add gelatin. Stir well. Pour over strawberries. Pour into baked pie shell, and place in refrigerator to chill.

Serve with whipped topping.
